Introduction
Human Relations is a fusion course that incorporates
a little PSYCHOLOGY, a little SOCIOLOGY and a lot of focus on Human Relations
skills. This is an elective class for sophomores, juniors and seniors.
The focus of the class is that students take an introspective look at their
personal lives using a variety of theoretical offerings to guide them.
Adolescence is like a maze for most young people.
There are so many choices and opportunities, and just as many pressures.
By having greater awareness of what motivates human beings toward various
behaviors, students can then focus on their assets and liabilities and
work toward becoming fully functioning human beings.
Of particular importance is the development of the
individual through the life cycle. As such, the ideas of prominent
individuals such as: Freud, Jung, Maslow, Erikson and many more will be
incorporated in our daily routine. Students will work with one another
and as individuals to create a thorough portfolio of writings which will
demonstrate understanding and awareness of psychological and sociological
theory. Relating these theories into the reality of their own personal
lives is a key to success in the course. Below is an outline of the
course content. Samples of the Quality
Work produced by students is also available to your scrutiny.
Just use the Quality Work link in the previous sentence. Of course,
there's now so much quality work that you may have to use the Quality
Work II page. Or, the Quality
Work III.
Of course, as I look at this year's crop of
Human Relations students it appears that we need to add yet another page.
Let's call this one, yes, you guessed it - Quality
Work IV .
